Yet another Asian tartare

This is another of the low-calory nibbles I prepared last week. Hell! I’m on a wave of low-calory-nibbles and happy about it… True, I have to admit that we didn’t have like tons of it, but it was enough to close the black hole also known as stomach. I’d liked the mango and the papaya to be more ripe, but that’s what I got from the supermarket. I bet the same recipe will work also with tuna, if you’re not so keen on raw meat, but I’d prefer to keep the tuna raw as well (searing it briefly might work as well, though).

Ingredients:

  • mango
  • papaya
  • shallots
  • coriander
  • chilli
  • lime juice
  • beef tartare
  • fish sauce
  • soy sauce
  • sesame oil

Method:

  1. chop all the fruits and the veggies into smallest cubes and mix them with some lime juice, fish and soy sauce and let it marinate for a little while:
  2. mix the raw meat with some fish sauce and sesame oil and serve the fruit salad on the bottom and a quenelle of tartare on top.
