Pecan brownies

Pecan brownies

Walking through the isles of the local supermarket a box caught my eye. It was a ready mix for brownies… And I told myself, nonononono this I can do myself, I don’t need a ready mix… and also, I still have a lot of cooking chocolate and cocoa powder at home that needs to be used, ASAP 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 175g of butter
  • 200g chocolate
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100g flour
  • 20g cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 60g pecan nuts
  • 200g sugar
  • 5g baking powder

Method:

  1. melt the chocolate and the butter in a pot stirring it regularly;
  2. when the chocolate and the butter are dissolved add the cocoa, mix in well and take away from the heat;
  3. with a hand mixer mix the sugar and the eggs until creamy and fluffy;
  4. slowly add the chocolate/butter mix to the eggs;
  5. mix the baking powder with the flour and add to the bowl and add the chopped pecan nuts;
  6. bake in a 20cmx28cm form at 180 °C for about 35 minutes;
  7. take it out and let it rest for 10 minutes in the form, then take out, cut and taste.
