Shrimp salad with white and red radish

I’m trying to convince myself that diety food doesn’t have to taste less good than not diety food. Well. Sometimes it’s true. It tastes just as good… and I’m not gonna say that if you added some crumbled bacon on top it’ll taste even better (oh sh**t, it will). Well, so there you have it. A recipe two ways: one diety and the other one less so. Just add some crumbled bacon strips that you’ve cooked in the pan with no added fat and it’ll be even more flavorfull than it already is. Because it is. Really!


  • shrimps
  • white radish (daikon)
  • red radish
  • cress sprouts
  • sesame seeds
  • thai chilli paste
  • soy sauce
  • fish sauce
  • rice vinegar
  • sesame seeds
  • sugar
  • sesame oil


  1. cook the shrimps in a pan with a little bit of sesame oil;
  2. slice the daikon and the red radish;
  3. mix the liquid ingredients (except the oil) and mix in also the chilli paste and a little bit of sugar;
  4. place the veggies and the shrimps on a serving plate, add a sprinkling of cress sprouts and of sesame seeds and pour the sauce on top.
