What do you do when the fridge only offers small scraps of meat, a little bunch of mixed wild mushrooms and some herbs? It’s an Asian take on a very traditional dish around here. And it came out pretty fine I’d like to think. The thai basil gives the sauce a very interesting note (and I mean in a good way!).
- lean pork
- mixed mushrooms
- thai basil
- cream cheese
- soy sauce
- fish sauce
- slice the meat very thinly and cook it in a hot pan;
- add the sliced mushrooms and add a splash of sake;
- once the alcohol has gone add a little bit of soy and fish sauce, add a little bit of vegetable stock if needed and then add a little bit of cream cheese (had to finish that one);
- season to taste and add a handful of fresh thai basil leaves and serve.
