Rainbow whoopies

Since outside it’s still all mainly brownish and greyish instead of colorful, why not add a little bit of color with these rainbow whoopies? They’re fairly easy and quick to make, so go ahed and try. It’ll make a lot of children very happy 🙂


  • 200g flour
  • 190 sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 150ml milk
  • 4 egg whites
  • salt
  • food coloring gel
  • vanilla extract
  • icing sugar
  • butter
  • cream cheese


  1. prepare the batter as usual but instead of using whole eggs this time use only egg whites, so that the colors will be more authentic;
  2. divide the batter among 6 bowls and add the gel;
  3. cook them for about 15-20 minutes at 180 °C in a preheated oven, take out and let cool on a rack;
  4. prepare the creamcheese frosting (icing sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla exract) and divide it as well among 6 bowls and color;
  5. cut off the top of the minimuffin (just where the rounded part stops) and pipe on some cream cheese and close with anoter minimuffin top and serve.
