Squid pakora

I did a similar recipe in 2012, and going through the pictures I wanted to prepare it once more, so here a little new version. Instead of using fish I decided to use squid and it makes excellent pakora. 🙂


  • squid
  • turmeric
  • chillipowder
  • peppercorns
  • lemon juice
  • spring onion
  • coriander
  • salt
  • chickpea flour


  1. prepare the marinade for the squid by mixing turmeric, chillipowder and lemon juice;
  2. add the squid strips, cover it and put it in the fridge for about 1 hour;
  3. prepare a thick batter with the same amount of water and chickpea flour, add the roughly crushed peppercorns, the finely chopped spring onion and coriander, season to taste;
  4. dip the squid into the batter and fry;
  5. serve with lemon wedges on the side.
