Cream cheese cushions with strawberry salad

Cream cheese cushions with strawberry salad

It is really as easy as it looks. Take some dough, baste it with melted butter, add the mixture, close it up, bake it and serve it. In there you can put whatever makes (reasonable) sense to you. I would have added pistachios, if I had any. Turned out it didn’t. So I came up with the idea of using walnuts… No, wait. After the pistachios I told myself “why don’t I use pecans?”, but they expired. So, back to the nuts…

Ingredients:

  • strudel dough (kinda of fillo really)
  • cream cheese
  • walnuts
  • honey
  • vanilla paste
  • butter
  • strawberries
  • lemon juice
  • whipping cream

Method:

  1. first of all you need to prepare the filling, so mix the cream cheese along with some honey and some vanilla paste, chop the nuts and mix them in together;
  2. melt some butter and baste the sheets of pastry, add some of the mixture, close it up and baste again with some butter;
  3. bake according to the paket’s instructions (mine was at 200 °C) and as soon as they’re golden brown, they’re ready;
  4. chop the strawberries and macerate them in some honey and lemon juice and serve it all with some whipped cream.
