Mini glazed buttermilk donuts

Mini glazed buttermilk donuts

Why, why do I come up with so many desserts? I’m not even a sweet type of person. If I were to choose between something sweet and something savoury, I’ll almost always would go for the latter. But there you go. Some minidonuts. And they were quite good. I just had to see for myself how much you need to fill the baking tray, and it needs almost nothing, so with the quantities I’ll give you later, you’ll make at least 48 of them. Oh yes, and since I recently added some measuring cups the recipe will be in cups and spoons and not in grams (I was fed up with turning the phone on to check again… all 2 minutes).

  • 1 1/4 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • glaze (I bought mine already made, but if you want to do your own mix water and icing sugar and add some food coloring)
  • sprinkles

  1. preheat the oven at 220 °C;
  2. in a bowl mix all the dry ingredients;
  3. in another bowl mix the liquid ingredients and add them to the dry ones and combine them until there are no lumps left;
  4. grease the form;
  5. pour the batter in a ziploc bag or a piping bag and make either a small hole or use a small tip for better control;
  6. pipe the batter into the form, filling it ONLY 1/3 of the way and bake for approx. 5 minutes;
  7. take out of the oven and from the form and, once cooled, glase and add the sprinkles.
