Strawberry yogurt cake with white chocolate ganache

I have to admit. With this one I cheated a little bit because I already posted this cake (well, almost identical) two  weeks ago. But that one was a test run. Now this is was it was testing for ;-). Birthday cake number two.


  • 150g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 strawberry yogurt
  • 2 yogurt cups of sugar
  • 3 y.c of flour
  • baking powder
  • white chocolate
  • fondant
  • food coloring
  • whipping cream
  • icing sugar
  • butter
  • vanilla aroma


  1. first of all prepare the ganache, because it’ll have to cool down and I’ve followed the recipe of MyCupcakeAddiction and prepared it in the microwave oven: put the cream and the chocolate in a microwave proofed container and cook it in 1 minute bursts stirring for 30 seconds in between, mine were done after 3 minutes and something, put some clean film on top and let it cool down;
  2. prepare the cake mixing the wet ingredients and adding the dry ones;
  3. bake for about 70 minutes at 200 °C and take out to cool completely;
  4. prepare the buttercream mixing 100g butter with 300g icing sugar and adding milk and aroma (vanilla in my case, and for the grass also a little bit of food coloring);
  5. cut the cake and spread the chocolate ganache, cover it and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes to set, then crumbcoat it;
  6. roll out the fondant and cover the cake, add the grass and glue the sugar  butterlies with a little bit of buttercream
