…and we’re readying for Christmas. Beginning by recycling a little bit of that left over pumpkin spice blend from a few recipes ago.

Spicy Christmast stars

Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 250g butter
  • 200g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 eggyolk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin spice
  • smarties
  • chocolate

Instructions

cream the butter with the sugar, add in all the other ingredients except the chocolate and the smarties;

wrap in clean film and leave in the fridge to rest for at least 2 hours;

form the cookies, add the smartie and press very gently (or it'll break);

(note to self, maybe one should freeze the smarties before putting them on so that they won't break?);

once formed put in the fridge (or outside if it's cold enough) to set for 10 minutes;

cook in a preheated ventilated oven at 180°C for 6-8 minutes;

cool completely on a rack and decorate with a little bit of melted chocolate.
